The Event

Join us for a weekend of diving deep into Brazilian Zouk concepts including technique, footwork, body movement and musicality. Pedro and Ana are coming to Minneapolis September 11th - 13th, 2026. This is an amazing opportunity available to our local scene without having to travel! We will get to enjoy Friday and Saturday night socials; and Saturday and Sunday workshops with a practica after the Sunday workshop. This event is offered in very digestible pieces with 5 hours of open level instruction, which will serve as a scaffold for an additional (optional) 3 hours of more advanced material. Don't miss this amazing opportunity right here in Minneapolis! All passes are transferable without a fee.

Note that the Advanced Level Pass includes the Open Level workshops and is highly encouraged participating in them, since they will build off the concepts.

Prerequisites

Open Level Pass requires mastery of Level 1: Basic Step, Lateral, Simple Turn and Viraginha.

Advanced Level Pass requires knowledge of Level 3 concepts: Piao, Balao, Rotisserie, Body Wave, Raul, Planada and Bonus

The Artists

Pedro Castro and Ana Reis are renowned Brazilian Zouk World Champions, Jack and Jill All-Stars, and certified judges with the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council (BZDC).

Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Pedro has been training in contemporary dance and classical ballet since the age of 16, while Ana has been immersed in dance from the age of 5 with a background in contemporary dance, jazz and classical ballet. This diverse training has deeply influenced their mastery of Brazilian Zouk, adding a rich level of artistry, expression, and precision to their performances and teaching. With extensive experience teaching at Alex de Carvalho’s Dance School in Brasil, they have refined an engaging and accessible teaching style for students of all levels.

Now based in the USA, Pedro and Ana are known for their dynamic performances and impressive achievements, including multiple podium finishes in Brazilian Zouk dance competitions, they have earned a reputation for delivering world-class instruction while promoting Brazilian Zouk culture globally. They are highly sought after for their classes and have taught at premier Zouk festivals in Canada, the USA, Brazil and Europe.
